We are looking to add a career-minded, thoughtful, compassionate veterinary technician with excellent communication skills. Our focus is client service. We want staff that reflects our desire to care for the patients like members of their own family.

The Veterinary Technician assists the doctors to the fullest possible extent, to maintain and improve the quality of care given to the patients and to aid the doctors in achieving the greatest efficiency by relieving them of technical work responsibilities.

The Veterinary Technician assists in multiple procedures providing care for patients, including physical examinations, extensive client interaction, dental and surgical procedures, pre and post-operative patient care, vaccinations, laboratory testing, euthanasia, patient nursing care, as well as client education, accurately entering service charges into client processing database, creating and presenting financial options and estimates, preparing medications and inventory.

Salary and benefits (401k, health insurance, employee discount plan, paid leave/holidays and CE, etc.) are commensurate with experience and will be discussed during the interview process. This is a full-time veterinary technician position and may require work on on some saturdays

Cat Clinic of Destin has been providing quality medical care for cats in Destin since 2000. Our team is passionate about caring for those special family members and committed to their health and well-being.

We are currently seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant to help us provide the best patient care and client experience in our community. Our team oriented, professional environment recognizes that a positive client/patient experience begins and ends at the front door, with this role playing a critical part of that overall client experience. Some of the duties include the following:

  • Understanding and performing veterinary technician/assistant duties; including, but not limited to: assisting the doctor in diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures, filling prescriptions, administering medications, sample preparation, the use of diagnostic equipment, and client education..
  • Able to comfortably and consistently lift and restrain cats of up to 20 lbs.
  • Confident in handling, lifting, and restraining of animals during examinations and procedures.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients in order to be able to accurately describe medical treatment plans.

We would prefer Avimark experience, but it\’s not required.

Veterinary Receptionist Duties & Responsibilities

This job generally requires the ability to do the following work:

  • Provide customer service such as greet customers, answer questions, process incoming patients, and handle payments.
  • Answer phone calls, which may involve answering questions and screening and scheduling appointments.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email.
  • Update and file patient charts.
  • Enter data into a computerized billing program.
  • Process credit card payments and prepare bank deposits.
  • Retrieve prescriptions.
  • Assist with pet supply purchases such as pet food, supplements, and grooming items.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the waiting room.
  • Avimark experience preferred.

In addition to providing excellent customer service to clients and ensuring that front desk operations run smoothly, the receptionist acts as the primary greeter when a client enters the waiting room with their pet, alerts the appropriate technician or veterinarian of the client’s arrival, and processes the client’s payment at the conclusion of the appointment.
